The funeral of David Devore oc­curred Monday afternoon at the house. Burial in the Devore Cemetery. Mr. Devore was a consistent Christian and an elder of the Shiloh C. P. church. He was a soldier of the late war, having served three years in the 17th Regi­ment, Indiana Infantry.

The undersigned coroner of Johnson County, Indiana, did, on the 29th day of August 1896, hold an inquest on the body of David Devore, late of said county and state, found dead at his home in Needham Township, in said county, on the 29th day of August, 1896.

Having viewed the body and heard the testimony of witnesses, I find that the deceased came to his death by reason of strangulation by hanging by the neck, with suicidal intent.

Deceased was 59 years old. On the body was found $17.90 in money.
