Uncle Hiram Deer, a noble Christian man, passed away last Friday night. Mr. Deer was born in Mercer county, Ky., April 26, 1813. He lacked two months of being 85 years old. He leaves a wife and six children–Josiah, Wesley, Edwin, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, Mrs. Louisa Blackwell and Mrs. Martha Garshwiler, to mourn their loss. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Daugherty of Franklin. His remains were interred in the Deer cemetery.
