ROCKLANE.

Don Dearman [sic], son of C. F. Dearman [sic], was thrown off a load of logs last Wednesday about 2:30 p.m. He did not seem to be hurt much and got up and went to the house, he being at the home of his uncle. About 6 o’clock he began crying and said he wanted to go home. Preparations were made to take him and soon his hands began cramping and while on the way he became unconscious in which condition he remained until death. An examination disclosed the fact that his head just back of the ear on the left side was badly hurt. Don was a very smart boy and loved by all. He was of a different disposition from most boys, never having any desire to play with children—he was a little man. He leaves a father, mother, one brother, two sisters, and a host of friends. He was born April 14, 1891, and died Dec. 28 1898, aged 7 years, 8 months and 14 days. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, conducted by Revs. Young and Hughes. Burial at the M.E. Cemetery.
