Notes: Indiana State Library Genealogy Database; Marriages through 1850 records that James J. Davis married Almyra [sic] Hughes on 24 Dec 1845 in Johnson County.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, Pleasant Township, Johnson County, Health Officer’s Record Number 29, page 57 records that Almyra Davis died at about 8:30 o’clock p.m. on 21 Mar 1900 in Pleasant Township from exhaustion caused by organic heart disease of ten or twelve years’ duration, aged seventy-two years, zero months and fifteen days. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Fayette County, Indiana. Her father’s name was Jesse Hughes, born in Tennessee, and her mother’s maiden name Nancy Melton, born in Western Virginia [sic]. The informant was J. G. Davis. She was buried in Greenwood on 23 Mar 1900, J. C. Wilson, undertaker.
