Mrs. Curry, residing near Whiteland died Monday night of old age, being in her eighty-first year. Six children sur­vive her, Scott, William, and Miss Bell Curry of this county; Mrs. Morton of Princeton; Henry Curry of Shelbyville, and Dr. Curry of Southport. Deceased was one of the charter members of the Rocklane Christian church founded more than fifty years ago, and a true Christian lady.

The 1850 US Federal Census for Clark, Johnson County, Indiana records thirty-three-year-old, Kentucky-born farmer John Curry, his thirty-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Caroline W. Curry, their Indiana-born children, twelve-year-old Tisdall E., ten-year-old Laura J., eight-year-old Thomas W., two-year-old Henry C. and newborn William H. Curry, and Caroline’s mother, sixty-year-old Kentucky-born Margaret Wise.

The 1860 US Federal Census for Clark, Johnson County, Indiana records forty-nine-year-old [sic], Kentucky-born farmer John Curry, his forty-two-year-old [sic], Kentucky-born wife Caroline W. Curry and their Indiana-born children, nineteen-year-old Laura, fifteen-year-old Thomas, thirteen-year-old Henry, eleven-year-old William, eight-year-old Isabel and six-year-old Scott Curry.
