OBITUARY

Sarah Cranfield [sic] was born about the year 1820. Her exact age is not known on account of the family record being destroyed. Her native home was in Tennessee, but when still a girl her family moved to Kentucky, where she lived until 1867. Her name before marriage was Sarah Crutchfield. August 14, 1845, she became the wife of William Cranfield [sic]. To them were born two daughters and a son. One of the daughters died at the age of three years and the boy also died at the age of three months. The other daughter with whom she was living at the time of her death is the only living child. Her husband died Feb. 22, 1849. After this when her daughter married one A. J. Moore, also a resident of Kentucky, she went to live with them and came to Johnson county Indiana, with them in 1867. She has lived with them ever since, until her death, January 23, 1893. For the last fifteen or sixteen years she has been an invalid at times and almost helpless as a babe. Within the last month or so she has been sinking by degrees until her death last Monday morning at about half-past three o’clock.
