OBITUARY.

Granville A. Crane, little son of Dave and Minnie Crane, died Friday, June 30, 1893, at their home in Blue River township, near Pisgah. Aged seven months and twenty-two days. The funeral services were held Saturday at two and a half o’clock, being conducted by W. W. Freeman of Taylorsville, after which we quietly laid him away to await the resurrection morn.

A little bud our Savior gave us,
A pure and lovely child

He gave to our keeping,
To cherish, and undefiled.

But just as it was springing
To the glory of the day,

Down came the heavenly angel
And took our child away.

The little crib is empty now,
The little clothes laid by,

A mother’s hope, a father’s joy,
In death’s cold arms doth lie.

Go, little pilgrim to thy home
On yonder blissful shore,

We miss thee here, but soon will come
Where thou hast gone before.

O.M.C.
