EDINBURG, Nov. 17—Oro[sic] Coy, age 40, died Monday night in the City hospital in Indianapolis as a result of a gunshot wound, self-inflicted. Mr. Coy lived with his family at 828 North Oriental street, Indianapolis. Monday afternoon he went to the basement of the home and soon Mrs. Coy heard a shot. She hastened to the basement and found her husband lying on the floor with blood flow­ing from a wound in his chest.

Mrs. Coy called to neighbors and they summoned the police who took Mr. Coy to the City hospital in the police emergency car. His death occurred during the night. Members of his family say he had been despondent for some time.

Mr. Coy formerly lived in Edinburg and his body was brought here Tuesday afternoon. Funeral and burial services will be held here.

Mrs. Coy, before her marriage, was a Hemphill [Ella May], being a daughter of Joseph Hemphill of Edinburg. Miss Minnie Hemphill of Edinburg is her sister.
