PISGAH, May 14.—Mrs. Harriett Catherine Dragoo Coy, wife of E. R. Coy and a lifetime resident of this community, died early Wednes­day morning at her home one mile west of Pisgah, following an ex­tended illness which had been critical for the past few weeks.

Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon and will be in charge of Rev. Clawson and Rev. Sherwood of Anderson, assisted by the Rev. George Curtis of the Edinburg Methodist Church.

Mrs. Coy was born in Johnson county on November 25, 1865 and was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Dragoo, for many years among the well known residents of this section of the county. She was united in marriage to Elijah Robert Coy on Jan. 1, 1885 and four children were born to this union, two of whom survive with the hus­band. The surviving children are Mrs. Nellie Henderson of Edinburg and Donald Lavaughn Coy. Two children died in infancy.

Also surviving her death are two grand­children, Cleona Henderson and Clyde Henderson of Edinburg, and three brothers, Albert and Abram Dragoo of Pisgah and Oscar Dragoo of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Mrs. Coy had united with the Pisgah Methodist Church when a young woman and had been a member of that congregation for more than 40 years. For the past twelve years she had been a mem­ber of the Church of God.

PISGAH THIS A.M.

Mrs. Harriot Katherine Dragoo Coy, age sixty five, passed away at 2:30 o’clock this morning at her home in the Pisgah neighborhood, after an illness of some length.

She was born November 25, 1865, in the Pisgah neighborhood, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Dragoo, and was united in marriage to Elijah R. Coy, January 1, 1885. Four children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nillie Henderson of Edinburg and one son Donald Coy, of Indianapolis. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Cleona and Clyde Henderson, three brothers Albert Dragoo and Abram Dragoo, of Pisgah, and Omar Dragoo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The deceased lived in the Pisgah neighborhood her entire life, and she was a member of the Pisgah M.E. church for the past forty years, where she was an active worker.

Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. Clawson and Rev. Under­wood of Anderson, assisted by Rev. George Curtis, of Edinburg officiating.

Burial will be made to the Pisgah cemetery.
