TRAFALGAR
Hansel B. Coy
      Hansel B. Coy, 86, died Wednesday, 
June 10, 1998, at Johnson Memorial 
Hospital in Franklin.  He was a resident 
of Trafalgar and a former resident of 
Franklin.
      He was born Feb 15, 1912, in Barth-
olomew County.  His parents were Lora 
and Mina E. (McKee) Coy.  He married 
Flossie L. Snyder in Brown County in 
1942.  She preceded him in death Dec. 
13, 1974.  He married Mary (Swartz) 
Earles Aug. 26, 1979, in Franklin.  She 
survives. 
 Other survivors include three sons, 
Donald L. Coy and Bernard G. Coy, both 
of Trafalgar, and Jeffery L. Coy of 
Franklin; a daughter, Betty L. Barrow 
of Harrison, Ohio; two stepsons, Stanley 
Earles and Stephen W. Earles, both of 
Franklin; a stepdaughter, Arlene Inabnitt 
of Franklin; three brothers, Neil Coy 
of Columbus and Clifford Coy and Dennis 
Lee Coy, both of Edinburgh; three sisters, 
Carmen Freeze of Franklin, Etheleen Voris 
of Greenwood and Mercedes Park of Nineveh; 
14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grand-
children.  He was preceded in death by a 
sister, Muriel Coy.
      He was employed by Amos-Thompson 
Corp. in Edinburgh as a veneer cutter 
for 23 years, retiring in 1956, then 
farmed from 1956 to 1976.  During the 
1930s he also worked on the John A. 
George Ranch in Brown County, raising and 
training Arabian horses.
      He was a member of Trafalgar Christian 
Church, Johnson County Farm Bureau and 
A.D. Camping Club.  He enjoyed gardening 
and camping.
      The Rev. James Gazaway will conduct a 
service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Meredith-
Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.  Friends 
may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the 
funeral home.  Burial will be at Rest Haven 
Cemetery in Edinburgh.
