8-Year Illness Is
Fatal To Farmer

¶ Edinburg, March 18.—Elijah Rob­ert Coy, 79, passed away this morn­ing at 7:30 at his home northwest of here after an illness of eight years.

He was born in Bartholomew County, June 10, 1860, the son of Samuel and Martha Anderson Coy. He married Harriet C. Dragoo, Jan­uary 1, 1885, and four children were born of the union. The wife and two children preceded Mr. Coy in death.

The survivors are children, Mrs. Nellie Henderson at home and La­vaughn Coy of Seymour; two broth­ers, R. A. Coy of Edinburg, and John Wesley Coy of Edinburg R. R.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Coffman and Mrs. Kate Milnes of Edinburg, and Mrs. Radella Edwards of Clifford; three grandchildren, Leona Henderson, Clyde Henderson and Roberta Jane Coy.

The deceased became affiliated early in life with the New Bethel church, moving his membership sev­eral years later to the Pisgah Meth­odist Church.

The body was taken to the Farr & Gosney Funeral Home where it was prepared for burial and will be taken to the home where friends may call after 6 o’clock this evening. The Rev. Ray Bozell will have charge of the funeral services which will be held Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the home.

ELIJAH COY DIED

Elijah Coy, age 79, died at his home west of here at 7:35 p.m. Sunday. Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the home in charge of Rev. Ray Bozell. Burial will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Bar­tholomew Co.

June 10, 1860, the son of Samuel & Martha Anderson Coy of Ky. He was married to Hariett Dragoo Jan. 1, 1885. There were four children. The wife & two children preceded him in death. He was a member of the New Bethel Church & later transferred his membership to the Pisgah Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Henderson at home, one son LaVonne Coy of Seymour. Two brothers, R. A. Coy of Edinburg and John Wesley Coy of Edinburg Rural Route. Three sisters, Mrs. Mary Coffman and Mrs. Katherine Milnes of Edinburg and Mrs. Ardella Edwards of Clifford, 3 grandchildren, Cleona Henderson, Clyde Henderson and Roberta Coy.
