Mrs. Rachael C. Coffelt died at about one o’clock Monday afternoon at her home one mile west of Amity. Mrs. Coffelt was seventy-six years of age and in a condition so feeble that a severe attack of grippe was followed within a few days by her death. After brief funeral services held at her late residence, the burial occurred at the Hamner cemetery, near Amity, Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was born in North Carolina in 1815. She removed with her husband to this state during the late war, and has since that time resided in Johnson County. Since the death of her husband, several years ago, she remained upon the farm until her death. Two brothers and two sisters, one of the former living in North Carolina and the others in this state, survive.
