Reba Katherine Cochran

Reba Katherine Cochran, 101, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born Dec. 19, 1898, in Edinburgh. Her parents were Charles and Florence Ida (Cordery) Cheshire. She married Russell W. Cochran on June 20, 1923, in Flat Rock. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1962. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Ann Schwabe of Napierville, Ill.; five grand- children, Robert Lennis Murphy of Indianapolis, Nancy Cannon of Carmel, Sharon Hood of Franklin, and Kirk Schwabe and Kip Schwabe, both of Napierville, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Murphy on Feb. 15, 1988.

She was a 1918 graduate of Edinburgh High School and worked as a stenographer for five years at Amos Lumber Co. She also was a longtime employee as a sales clerk in the fur department at Wm. H. Block in Indian­apolis.

She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church in Franklin, the Christ­ian Women’s Fellowship of Christ, Hilltop Group and Tri Psi Soror­ity. She was a former member of Franklin BPW.

Ted Murphy will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Wright Memorial Chapel in the Franklin United Methodist Community. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Memory Room of the Franklin United Methodist Community. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Arrangements are being handled by Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin.

REBA KATHERINE CHESHIRE COCHRAN, 101, Franklin, died Nov. 11. She worked five years as a stenographer for Amos Lumber Co. Previously, she was a salesclerk several years for Wm. H. Block Co. She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church, Franklin, Christian Women’s Fellowship, Hilltop Group and Tri Psi Sorority.

Services: 10 a.m. Nov. 14 in Wright Memorial Chapel, Franklin United Methodist Community, with calling there from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 13. Burial: Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.

She was the widow of Russell W. Cochran.

Survivors: daughter Carol Ann Schwabe; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
