BARGERSVILLE MAN
DIES AT SON’S HOME

––––

John A. Clore, 81, native citizen of Bargersville community, died Wednesday noon at the home of his son, Guy Clore, in New Castle. Mr. Clore had been in failing health for some time, his condition becoming critical two weeks ago.

The body was brought to the Flinn funeral home in Franklin, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. The family asks that flowers be omitted.

Mr. Clore was the son of John and Margaret Ellen Welch Clore, and was born on a farm, three miles west of Bargersville, July 3, 1859. He was married September 22, 1880 to Miss Elizabeth Caroline Deer, whose death occurred in 1924. Two sons born to them survive. They are Chester Clore, living south of Franklin, and Guy Clore, of New Castle.

Mr. Clore had made his home with the latter son for the past sixteen years, a part of that time having been spent in Indianapolis.

Two brothers surviving are Joel Clore of Bargersville, and Leonard B. Clore, of Franklin, a half-brother. Three grandchildren also survive. They are Mrs. Marcia DeHaven and John Gordon Clore, of Denver, Colo. and Ruth Clore of New Castle.

Mr. Clore was a life-long member of the Bargersville Christian church. He served on the building committee when the old church in Bargersville was erected, and was also a member of the building committee when the new church in New Bargersville was built.

Mr. Clorer’s life had been devoted to farming as long as his health permitted. He was one of the substantial citizens of his community, and had a prominent part in the religious and civic affairs of his township. His death removes one of the early citizens of the Bargersville community, and one of its most respected citizens.
