Myrtie E. Burton
Myrtie E. Burton, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Franklin. She was a lifelong resident of Edinburgh.
She was born April 5, 1918, in Hudgins, Ky. Her parents were John and Ella (Scott) Hudgins. She married Robert Burton on Sept. 16, 1939. He preceded her in death March 15, 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Alene Burton and Shirley Burgett, both of Edinburgh; a son, Robert L. Burton of Edinburgh; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wayne; a brother, Chester Hudgins; five sisters, Leona McCubbins, Frances McDowell, Louetta Clark, Winifred Powell and Letha Tabb; and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of Aetna Grove Kentucky Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting.
The Rev. Larry McCormick will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
