Larry Bryant

Larry Bryant, 54, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at his residence in Edinburgh.

He was born May 3, 1948, in Edinburgh. His parents are Carter and Bertha (Burton) Bryant. He married Linda Denton on Sept. 28, 1965. She survives. Others survivors include a son, L. J. Bryant of Edinburgh; two daughters, Betty Jones and Shelby Bryant, both of Edinburgh; three brothers, Charles Bryant of Edinburgh, Kenneth Bryant of Columbia, Ky., and Archie Bryant of Edgewater, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Ellis and Velva Burton, both of Edinburgh; and three grand­children. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Gary Bryant; and two sisters, Lettie Burton and Jewel Williams.

He was employed by NTN Drive Shaft in Walesboro as a material hand­ler.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1965 to 1969.

He co-founded Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh where he was a former pastor, a current dea­con and a member of the church board for 20 years.

He played guitar and sang, wrote and recorded a number of gospel songs.

The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, with military graveside rites by the Edinburgh American Legion and Vet­erans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
