The five year old daughter of Elmer Brown and wife of this city, died last Friday evening of diphtheria after an illness of but a few days. The funeral took place Sunday morning.
The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920 page 24, referencing Book H-18, page 5, records that Mabel Brown, a five-year-old white female, died on 31 Oct 1896 in Franklin.
