Kenneth “Pinkie” Browning, 59, 1029 East Jefferson Street, died suddenly Wednesday at Johnson County Memorial Hospital.
Born March 20, 1917, in White River township, he was the son of Otto Ray and Leffie (Umbarger) Browning.
He was married to Doris Jean Hunt in Nineveh on September 21, 1941. Mrs. Browning survives.
A lifelong Johnson county resident, Browning was a 1936 graduate of Franklin high school. He was a supervisor for 15 years at the Indiana Masonic Home and was a former owner of a Nineveh grocery store.
Browning was a member of Nineveh Christian Church, Nineveh Masonic Lodge and Bear Hollow Camper Club. He was also a World War II army veteran.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home, Franklin, with Rev. Charles Paxton officiating. Burial will follow in Nineveh Cemetery. Masonic services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday and until the time of services Saturday.
In addition to the wife, survivors include two daughters, Dianna Logsdon, Franklin, and Karen Woodall, Nineveh; three sisters, Mildred Davis, Franklin, Mabel McMillan, Indianapolis, and Almedia Short, Madison; three brothers, Denzil Browning, Franklin, Harry Browning, Indianapolis, and Robert Browning, Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
