GEORGE M. BROWN,

Who for years had lived near Union Village, died last Friday after an illness of several days. He was in the eighty-first year of his age at the time of his death, having been born in Mercer county, Kentucky in 1810. He was the father of ten children, only four of whom are living. He became a member of the Methodist church when but fifteen years of age and had lived an exemplary life. The funeral and interment took place at Hopewell, on Sunday, in the presence of a large number of friends. Rev. C. W. Tinsley, preached the funeral discourse. Mr. Brown was the father of N. Brown, the meat merchant of this city.

Mr. George Brown died last Friday evening, aged 80 years. He was buried last Sunday evening at Hopewell ceme­tery after the funeral services which were conducted at the house. He was a faithful member of the M. E. Church for twenty five years. He was the father of twelve children, eight of whom are dead.
