Brown County native Edith A. Brown died Monday, April 15, 1996, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
A resident of Indianapolis, she was 88.
Mrs. Brown was born November 21, 1907, in Nashville to Michael and Delia Smith Ferguson.
She was married to Samuel P. Brown. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brown had worked as a laborer at RR. Mallory for 23 years, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of the Smith Valley Baptist Church and the Southport Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Burris; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanna Ruth Miller.
The Reverend Clyde McCammack led a service Monday, April 22, at the G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Mortuary in Indianapolis.
Burial was in Johnson County’s Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
