James Brockman

James A. Brockman, the father of Daniel L. Brockman of Nineveh, died Tuesday, October 4, 1994, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

A resident of Whiteland, he was 73.

He was born March 10, 1921, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Johnnie B. and Thelma Burton Brockman.

He and Eula M. Pendleton were married December 24, 1940, in Cain Valley, Kentucky. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Wanda S. Swartz of Indianapolis; two other sons, Larry G. Brockman and Jamie K. Brockman, both of Whiteland; two brothers, Donald L. Brockman of Florida and Alton L. Brockman of Georgetown; two sisters, Doris L. Smith of New Albany and Mayme M. Sampson of Corydon; and eight grandchildren.

A sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Brockman served with the United States Army during World War II. He received three Bronze Stars.

After the war he worked as a job setter at Allison Transmission. He retired in 1981 after 30 years with the company.

The Reverend Bill McCoy conducted a service Friday afternoon, October 7, at the Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home in Johnson County. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
