Mrs. Mary Brewer died Friday night at her home in the Hopewell neigh­borhood from cancer of the stomach. Funeral services were held Sunday af­ternoon at 2 o’ clock at her late resi­dence, conducted by Rev. J. H. Bright. Three daughters survive her.

The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records forty-year-old, Indiana-born farmer Benjamin E. Brewer, his thirty-six-year-old, Indiana-born wife Mary H. [Wheat] Brewer and their Indiana-born children, 15-year-old Cora M., ten-year-old Anna L. Brewer and six-year-old Susie D. Brewer.
