Herschel C. Bray

Herschel C. Bray died Monday, May 22, 1995, at his home in Franklin. He was 65.

Mr. Bray left survivors in the Brown County area.

He was born January 18, 1930, in Ula, Kentucky, to Lee Other and Ida B. Goodwin Bray.

He and Maxine Tucker were married July 25, 1955. She survives.

Mr. Bray attended schools in Pulaski County, Kentucky.

He worked at Southern Scavenger in Greenwood for 25 years, retiring in 1991.

Mr. Bray was a member of the Teamsters Union and Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis.

Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara L. Shepard and Lisa A. South, both of Franklin; five sons, James R. Bray, Herschel C. Bray Jr., Michael Bray and David W. Bray, all of Franklin, and Danny G. Bray of Fort Knox, Kentucky; three brothers, Robert W. Bray of Franklin, James H. Bray of Morgan­town and Ernest Bray of Brown County; eight sisters, Elizabeth Tanner, Doris Alvey, Phylis Tucker and Yvonne Shockley, all of Green­wood, Vena E. Tucker of Franklin, Ruby Woodard of Morgantown, Fostina Miller of Somerset, Ken­tucky, and Stella Lindsey of Hilsbonow[sic]; 15 grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.

Pastor Don Jackson conducted a service Thursday, May 25, at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin.

Burial was in that city’s Greenlawn Cemetery.
