Mrs. Ella Brannaman, of Greenwood, who had a severe surgical operation performed at the Deaconess hospital, died on Wednesday of last week. Heart failure was the immediate cause of her death. Funeral services were held Fri­day morning at 10 o’clock.

Notes:  The 1900 US Federal Census for Pleasant Township, Johnson County, Indiana, taken on 9 Jun 1900, records forty-four-year-old, Indiana-born house painter Ora Branneman [sic] (born Oct 1855), his forty-four-year-old, Indiana-born wife, Ella Branneman [sic] (Born Dec 1855), and their twelve-year-old, Indiana-born son, Lester Branneman [sic] (born Jan 1888). Ora and Ella have been married nineteen years (abt 1881).

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Greenwood, Pleasant Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 275 records that Ella Brannaman died at about 4 o’clock p. m. on 25 Jul 1900 in Indianapolis from cholelithiasis [gall stones] of five years’ duration, aged forty years [sic]. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Indiana. Her father’s and mother’s names and birthplaces were not recorded. The informant was Ida Brannaman. Ella was buried on 27 Jul 1900 in Greenwood, J. C. Wilson, undertaker.
