H. Violet Bowman

H. Violet Bowman, 83, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Moline, Ill., for 35 years.

She was born June 23, 1913, in Kewanee, Ill. Her parents were Olaf and Hilma Hoods. She married Almon L. Bowman Oct. 1, 1947, in Kewanee. He survives. Other sur­vivors include a daughter, Marilyn Nelson of Indianapolis; a son, John Bowman of Gurnee, Ill.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Edwin Hoods.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Moline.

The Rev. James Leonard will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Estates in Moline.

Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is handling local arrangements.
