Mrs. Sophronia Blair died Saturday at her home in Whiteland, aged sixty-four years. She had been ill for some time from consumption. Funeral ser­vices were held Monday afternoon and the remains were taken to Greensburg [sic] for burial.

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Whiteland, Pleasant Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 15 records that Sophronia Josephine Blair died at about 5 o’clock p. m. on 27 Jul 1900 in Whiteland, Indiana from pulmonary oedema of three days’ duration, caused by spinal sclerosis of seven months’ duration, aged sixty-three years, ten months and seventeen days. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Decatur County, Indiana. Her father’s name was William Henry Thomson, born in Pennsylvania, and her mother’s maiden name Jane B. Blair, born in Tennessee. The informant was John Ditmars. Sophronia was buried in Greensburg, Indiana [sic Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Decatur County, Indiana] on 31 Jul 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
