Annie Viola Bills, age 69, mother of Claude M. Bills, trustee of Blue River township, died at his home at 11:45 p. m. Friday following an illness of several months.

The deceased had suffered a stroke of apoplexy several months ago and had never completely recovered although she had improved greatly and was able to be out. Her death however was a shock to her relatives and many friends.

Funeral rites with the Rev. J. A. Sumwalt officiating will be held from the Edinburg Methodist church at 2 p. m. Monday. Interment, Rest Haven cemetery.

Mrs. Bills was born Nov. 29, 1865 in Bartholomew county the daughter of John and Mary McKinney Lee. She was married to Albert M. Bills in September 1891 and he passed away five years ago. Three children were born to this union all of whom survive.

The surviving relatives are the children, Claude M. Bills and Ralph Bills of Edinburg and Mrs. Ruth Bright of Whiteland; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Carter of Greenwood and Mrs. Margaret Trowbridge of Shelbyville; four brothers, Jacob Wilby Lee of Indianapolis, Ara, Ed and Charles Lee of Edinburg; three grandchildren and other relatives.

ship Trustee Had Been Ill
For Several Months

EDINBURG, Oct. 26 — Mrs. Anna Viola Bills, 69 years old, mother of Claude Bills, Blue River township trustee, passed away Friday night at 11:45 o’clock at the home of her son, Claude, on East Main Cross street. Mrs. Bills had been in failing health the past several months but had been up and around her home in apparently no worse health that usual but she became violently ill and passed away suddenly.

Mrs. Bills was born in Bartholomew county November 29, 1865, the daughter of John Riley and Mary Anne McKinney Lee. She was married to Albert M. Bills in September of 1891. The husband preceded her in death five years. To this union three children were born all of whom survive her.

The children are Claude Bills and Ralph M. Bills, both of Edinburg, and Mrs. Ruth Bright of Whiteland. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Carter, of Greenwood, and Mrs. Margaret Trowbridge, of Shelbyville, and four brothers, Jacob Wilby Lee of Indianapolis; Edward, Ara and Charles Lee, all of Edinburg, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at two o’clock at the Edinburg Methodist church. Rev. J.A. Sumwalt will conduct the services. Burial will be made in Rest Haven cemetery.
