John T. Bergen, a well-known citizen of the Hopewell neighborhood, died at his home last Thursday night, aged 64 years. He was born and raised in Johnson County and for many years conducted a blacksmith on the premises of his late home. He leaves a wife, two sons and three daughters. The funeral occurred Saturday morning from the Hopewell church, of which he had been a member for a large number of years. Rev. J. H. Bright conducting the services.
