FUNERAL HELD FOR B. L. BEAL

Edinburg— Aug. 14. Funeral services for Ben L. Beal, age 27, who died at his home on Clay street Tuesday evening at 7:45, after a four days’ illness of peritonitis, were held at the home of his parents at 2:30 this afternoon. A large gathering of friends was present. The casket bearers and flower carriers were close friends of the deceased and his widow. They were Clarence and Owen Hardin, Claude Compton, Henry Bogie, Robert Hunter, Fred Marshall and Paul Gourley; Mrs. R. P. Hunter, Mrs. Fred Marshall, Mrs. Claude Compton, Mrs. Owen Hardin and the Misses Eva Smyser, Hettie Hardin and Mary Bland.

The Rev. W. E. Moore, former pastor of the local Christian church and a close friend, conducted the service. Burial was made in Rest Haven.

Mr. Beal was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Beal, and spent almost his entire life in Edinburg. He was well liked and his friends are shocked at his early death. He was a member of the Christian church, and was graduated with the 1920 class of the local high school, also a graduate of the Columbus Business college. He was married March 23, 1926, to Miss Mary J. Shipp, and two children were born to this union-Barbara Jane, age 3 years, and John Robert, 1 year old, who, with the parents and one brother, Frank Beal, of Los Angeles, Cal., survive.
