EDINBURGH — Clarence W. Ashley, 66, of Edinburgh, died Monday evening at Bartholomew County Hospital. He retired one year ago from the David R. Webb Co.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Eskew Funeral Home where persons may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Ashley was born in Johnson County March 15, 1913 to Samuel and Denna Wells Ashley. He married Jeanne Daily Aug. 8, 1937 and she survives. He was a member of the former Kansas Christian Church at Camp Atterbury.

Other survivors include two daughters, Betty Billingsley of Edinburgh and Mary Stout of San Pablo, Calif.; two sisters, Lora Ashley of Louisville, Ky. and Betty Meehan of Duluth, Minn.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

      Clarence W. Ashley, 66, 603 Manual Place, Edinburgh,
died Monday night at Bartholomew County Hospital.  He
had not been ill and his death was unexpected.
      Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
at Eskew Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Rest Haven Ceme-
tery.  Friends may call at the Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. today.
      Mr. Ashley, who had retired last year from David R. Webb
Veneer Company, was born March 15, 1913, in Johnson County
in the Atterbury area the son of Samuel and Denna Wells Ashley.
He married Jeanne Daily, Aug. 8, 1937, and she survives.
      Also surviving are two daughters, Betty Billingsley of Edin-
burgh and Mary Stout of San Pablo, California, two sisters, Lura
Ashley of Louisville, Ky., and Betty Meehan of Duluth, Minn-
esota, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
