Long-time Morgantown resident, Arthur "Southpaw" Anderson, 85, died in his home on Monday, November 23, 1981.
A Johnson County native, Anderson was born on April 14, 1896, to Allie and Lillie Craft Anderson and married Marie Dine who preceded him in death in 1971.
Anderson was a retired farmer, a member of Morgantown Baptist Church, Redmen’s Lodge and a 50-year member of Oddfellows Lodge.
Surviving him are a son, A.P. "Job" Anderson of Morgantown; a daughter, Betty St. John of Morgantown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Two sons, four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The funeral was Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Davis and Dr. Chester McCullough officiating. Burial was at East Hill Cemetery.
