Four-Year Illness Fatal to Widely

Known Woman—Funeral Friday

Mrs. Oliver Anderson, age eighty-one, died at her home at 223 east Franklin Street Tuesday night at 11:20 o’clock following an illness of four years. Her condition had been critical since last Friday.

Born October 2, 1858, in Johnson County, the daughter of Joseph and Sara Hemphill, she had lived most of her life in Shelby County. She was married to Mr. Anderson, of Union Township, on October 23, 1884. They would have celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary next month.

Survivors besides the husband are two sons, Bertie Anderson, of Indian­apolis, local real estate broker; William, of this county; two daugh­ters, Mrs. Bertha Creek, at home; Mrs. Howard Dent, of Sunman; one brother, Iturea Hemphill, of Indianapolis; thir­teen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood. Funeral services will be held at the Second Mt. Pleasant church Friday at 2:00 o’clock with Dr. J. W. McFall, assisted by the Rev. Alonzo Hamilton, officiating. Burial will be made in the Second Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the charge of Loren H. Murphy.
