Jarvis Alexander

Jarvis Alexander, 86, Bradenton, died Oct. 20, 2002. He was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Franklin, Ind., and came to Bradenton in 1989 from there. He was a Chevrolet dealer in Franklin. He was mayor of Franklin in the 1950s. He was a member of the Indiana Masonic Lodge and the National Historical Society. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ in Bradenton.

Survivors include daughters Joyce of Bradenton, Ellen of Indianapolis and Myra Steinke of Delavan, Wis.; a sister, Dorothy Ettinger; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Congregational United Church of Christ in Bradenton. Inurnment will be in Franklin. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.

O. Jarvis Alexander, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at L.W. Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. He was a resident of Bradenton, Fla., and a former longtime resident of Franklin.

Arrangements are pending at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin.
