ANNA I. ABBETT
Anna I. Abbett, 85 died Sunday at Todd-Aikins Health Center in Franklin. She had been a resident of Franklin for several years.
She was born April 4, 1908, in Campbellsville, Ky. Her parents were Walter Smith and Bertha Ella (McNear) Smith. She married Byron J. Abbett in Mary 1926, in Franklin. He preceded her in death May 14, 1969. Survivors include three daughters, Alice L. Russell and Ruby I. Lazzell, both of Franklin, and Mary Frances Harp of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert Smith, Virgil Smith and Robert Smith; Two sisters, Christine Musselman and Lenora Malone; and a grandson, John David Mitchell.
She was a homemaker. She also had been employed by Varynit Mills in Franklin for several years.
The Rev. Ralph E. Stocklin will conduct a graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. There are no calling hours. Arrangements were handled by the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin.
