John A. Thompson, youngest son of A. C. and Maria Thompson, was born in Johnson County, Ind., on the 1st day of October, 1855. He was reared and educated in Edinburg, and here he also began his business career in 1878, as partner in the banking house of his father, with which he is still identified. He is thoroughly posted in all the details of banking, and at this time holds the responsible position of cashier. In his business and social relations Mr. Thompson occupies a conspicuous place in the estimation of his fellow citizens, and as a courteous gentleman, few stand higher in the community. He owns a third interest in Thompson & Co.’s Roller Mills, at Edinburg, and occupies one of the most beautiful residences in the city. October 2, 1879, he married Miss Clara, daughter of Benjamin J. and Heppy Deming, a union blessed with two children, viz.: Rebie and Frank.
