African Americans are a blend of multiple
cultures, races, nationalites, and locations. The
rich history and lineage has defined more than ever
the need to document and preserve the
"African-American Experience" in every form that is
available. African-American Griots is here to make
available to researchers and persons of all walks of
life an opportunity to be a part of this experience.
Records such as military, vital records, surnames,
probate and labeled photos are a few examples of
what we would like to document and preserve for
anyone interested in or seeking genealogical or
historical references. Any contributions that can be
offered will be accepted as long as they are not
derogatory or discriminating.
All of the records found on this website are the
contributions of devoted researchers and
genealogist. Some records will not have the
submitter's name. This is not intentional. For
unknown reasons over time portions of some records
have been lost. My goal is to acknowledge each one
of the contributors to the AAG Project for their
hard work by posting the wills, birth records,
surveys, newsclippings, cemetery records, marriage
records, databases, prison records, slave research,
military records, Freedmen's Savings & Trust,
photos, family lineage and histories, census,
mortality schedules, obituaries, surname listings,
queries, probate records, etc. |
